racial hygiene
n. 1. the program proposed by
psychiatrist Alfred Ploetz as early as 1895 to purify mankind of inferior racial elements.
It was carried forward by other psychiatrists in Germany and the U.S. in the years that
followed, and finally adopted as a national policy by Adolph Hitler in the 30’s.
Psychiatry is still pushing this program today with such proposals as genetic
screening, newborn screening, and
ethnic cleansing, as implemented by the Serbian visionary, Slobodan Milosevic.
