facilitation
n. 1.
(psychobabble) an ingenious form of leadership avoidance ordained by the
priests of the anti-social sciences. The manager, rather than
setting group goals and taking necessary actions to achieve those goals, acts as a moderator or coordinator
while the employees more or less fend for themselves. Likewise, the teacher, rather than ensuring that students
acquire essential life skills such as reading and math, gives the students free rein
to educate themselves through brainstorming, group learning and other modern educational
monstrosities. In short, the manager must not manage and the teacher must not teach.
